Divemaster

RAID Divemaster is the first step on the ladder as a diving professional and your opportunity to share your love of diving with others. Under the guidance of your RAID Diving Instructor you will hone your skills to demonstration level quality and become a role model for other divers. You will be trained to guide certified divers and assist with instruction of new divers. There are easier Divemaster courses out there but at RAID we believe if you are going to take responsibility for others you will want to be well prepared. Therefore as a RAID Divemaster you will be trained to a higher standard.

The RAID Divemaster program uses simulated and real situations to help develop the skills you need to be an effective Divemaster. One of the advantages of the RAID system is that the program requires working with real students, under supervision of your Instructor, as well as a number of hours of real guiding to develop skills required to look after other divers.

It must be remembered that people look up to RAID Divemasters seek their advice and even follow their examples. This requires RAID Divemasters to lead by example and follow RAID standards. As a RAID Diving Professional, it is important that you understand that the definition of professional is someone who gets paid for what they do. In order to be paid someone must value your services. Diving is a recreation but a dive business is a business like any other and has to make money to stay in business. As you work through your RAID Divemaster course you will learn that the best Divemasters create a win/win/win outcome. They give value to their customers and their customers will reward them with their business- this means happy customers, happy dive business owners and happily employed diving professional.
